Thanks for stopping by! I get asked all the time - "What can I do to help spread the word about your music?" Well - I wrote this page for those of you who ask that. Your help spreading the word in one or more of the ways listed below will be humbly and gratefully appreciated.

How many times has someone told you that you should check out some music - and you did and it was good!!! But if it hadn't been for "word of mouth" you would have never heard it.

"Grassroots" is a term used for political organizations and various horticulture professionals. But it can also work in the world of art - and more specifically music. We have all heard many stories of some band that just "exploded" from nowhere - that usually just means that the word of mouth that had been spreading the news about them finally reached "critical mass" to where almost everyone knew who they were. There are bands that are cranking out records and playing shows and doing it with very little help from the corporate machine - - IF there are enough people committed to spreading the word. Fortunately we now have the internet so "networking" and telling people about stuff is a lot easier than it used to be.

Here are several ways you can help:

Widget - OK, so we are back to selling widgets! Well, not exactly - this one plays several of our tunes and video and gives some bio info - and the best thing - all you have to do is click the "grab it" button (try it) and copy the code of the widget and put it on your myspace, or any website. It is a cool way to share some music and info about the band. Once you click on the "grab it" button it will give you the code to paste into your website - or click on the myspace or whatever site you want to put it in and it will do it for you. Whenever we update the widget - new songs, new shows, News, it will update yours automatically - Easy as it gets.

Email - One of the simplest ways to spread the word is by sending the Jeff Scheetz band info or EPK in an email to your friends - "spam" is not a way to win friends and fans - but an email directly from you to your closest peeps is a GREAT way to win them!

Myspace - Everyone has a myspace account. So grab the JSB widget and stick it on your myspace page, it's easy. Then send a bulletin out to all your myspace friends telling them to check it out. Of course you should all be my friend - here

Internet - There are tons of music sites, message boards, magazines, blogs, and fan sites all over the internet, so many we can't get to all of them. Anytime you come across one - let them know about the Jeff Scheetz band, write something on their message board - or go to band's sites that you think sound like us and tell their fans. You should all do a "review" on CD baby, or anywhere else where the CD is sold. Here are some sites you can bombard with stuff. Here are the top music blogs on the net  so go there and search for blogs about a band that sounds like us and turn them on to us. Or you can Go here for lots of music promoting links  For a site kind of like myspace but for music fans go here The point is that there are tons of sites online to talk about, share, and promote music. So if I can help any of you to help me get the word out - just let me know how - cause I'm out there spreadin' the love right along with you! You already know where the widget is - But once again our EPK (Electronic Press Kit) can be emailed to anyone you want to share some music and info about the band with. (just click the little envelope in the top right hand corner of the epk page and you can email it to anyone.) You can find the EPK here

Local music papers - Every town has a local zine that tells about the music scene. Contact them and let them know about JSB and see if they would want to do a review of the cd or an interview. If not - tell them YOU can do a review and or interview. Then contact us for details on how to set it up. Be glad to talk to anyone, and usually local music rags are open to interesting articles - like we can tell them about the time I was in the wilds of Zimbabwe stuck in the bush with no food or water, but I managed to carve an acoustic guitar out of a trilock tree and used the fine hairs of a spotted yak for strings so I could play songs and keep morale up amongst the natives....... or some such thing......  Anyway, I have done tons of guitar columns and articles as well as interviews so there is always some angle to present.

Radio - There are not many independent radio stations left in this world of big corps that we live in - however, if you are lucky enough to have one in your area, or are near a college station that plays our kind of tuneage - then please send them a cd - or just contact them and see if I can send them a cd - or better yet email them our EPK which has tunes they can listen to, and pictures and bio info. Then of course request it. If it is a big corporate station it is much harder to find someone who cares -  many of those DJs don't program their own music most of the time anyway - it is just piped to them via fiber optic cable from some fat guy smoking a cigar counting the money he just got sent as a "gift for his granny" from Beyonce's publicist.

Local stores - Same thing here - not many local stores around like there used to be. But if you have one, ask them to carry the JSB cd. If they can't order it through their distributor (which they should be able to), put them in touch with our website and we will make sure they have it.

Local clubs/promoters - Touring is made possible by people helping to get the word out - if we can come to your area, we would love to have you help spread the word - we can send you posters and whatever you need to help promote the show.

You may have some great ideas about different ways to promote the new band - love to hear them! Of course ones that are doable are better - like putting the new CD cover on the hood of Dale jr's car for the next NASCAR race might be a great attention getter, but may be a bit out of the "doable" range - but I'll entertain any thoughts!

So if you have read this far, either you dig the stuff and want to try to help, or you are extremely bored at 2:00am and accidentally ended up here. But really, either way, you can help! It just takes a lot of you guys sitting down and sending out a few emails with links to the site and myspacing it a bit to help get the word out. So for all of you that do help this way - THANKS, and if you do send out an email to your buds or put the widget on your page - please email me so I will know. You can email me here   email here This is my direct email - so keep me posted - -

Thanks for supporting the music and sharing the love!
